Rustic elegance

By Bride and Groom 27 May 2019

A lush, riverside oasis with abundant fresh flowers and a relaxed, rustic vibe was the dream location for Kristy Dyke and Tim Scadden’s wedding day. Moama’s Paradise Gardens proved ideal for the occasion, and allowed them the opportunity to personalise their special day, and to celebrate with family and friends.

Bold colours

A bold colour palette chosen for the bridal party was a standout feature of Kristy and Tim’s big day. Royal blue suits worn by the groomsmen complemented the rich burgundy bridesmaids’ dresses, while the classic boutonnieres and bouquets of cream roses, lisianthus, dahlia, snowberry and eucalyptus created the perfect stylish contrast.

Music with meaning

Kristy walked down the aisle to Bernard Fanning’s Watch Over Me and shared the first dance with husband Tim to Higher Love by James Vincent. “These songs just capture who we are,” Kristy said. Band Current Stand kept guests entertained and by the end of the evening the dance floor was crowded, capping off a day filled with love and laughter.

Private proposal

The couple met nine years ago at a local football club ball, but Tim waited almost eight years to propose to Kristy while on a camping holiday in the High Country near Dargo. “That evening, on a beautiful autumn night sitting by the campfire, with the Dargo Creek beside us, Tim got to one knee and proposed. Because we were in the High Country we had no phone service for 24 hours, which was really special because we got to soak up this special moment, just the two of us,” Kristy said.

Cool treats

One of Kristy and Tim’s favourite summer pastimes is riding their bikes into town with their dog Harry, and enjoying a cool ice-cream as a treat. With the temperature reaching a warm 34 degrees on their wedding day, the couple added a sense of fun during their post-ceremony photo shoot, by enjoying an old-fashioned ice-cream cone with their bridal party.
