On a glorious autumn day Bonnie-Kate Wood and Anthony Kozma said “I do” during an intimate and emotional ceremony on the banks of the Goulburn River at Mitchelton Wines. The day was made even more memorable as the officiating priest, Father Michael Morley, had married the bride’s parents 32 years ago in Bendigo.
Bonnie-Kate turned to online bridal websites and social media for inspiration when styling her dream wedding, and her careful planning paid off with a fuss-free day. “Try to relax and take in the day! It goes so fast so just enjoy every moment and all the hard work you have put in will pay off. Everything will just fall into place for you both on your special day,” Bonnie-Kate said.
Rustic simplicity was achieved by embracing the colour palette of the autumn season. Deep purples, greenery, timber table centrepieces and name places, an abundance of flowers and festoon lighting created a magical reception space. “We were so blown away with how the Montage Room (reception venue) looked on the day, it was exactly what we envisioned,” Bonnie-Kate said.
Breaking with tradition
Modern bride Bonnie-Kate Wood broke with tradition and asked her younger brother to stand beside her as man-of-honour on her wedding day. “My younger brother and I were especially close as children and these days, there’s no rules. My older brother was MC, and it was very special to have them involved,” Bonnie-Kate said.
