Married at a hidden gem

By Bride and Groom 30 April 2019

Alex Panetta and James Hamlyn’s chance meeting in Benalla four years ago led to a blossoming romance, which culminated in the couple exchanging wedding vows in an intimate ceremony on a perfect late-summer day.

Hidden retreat

Nestled in the central Victorian ranges, the beautiful gardens of Flowerdale Estate were the ideal setting for the gathering of relatives and friends for Alex and James’ nuptials. The enchanting reception pavilion offers uninterrupted views of the picturesque surrounds and ticked every box for the couple’s rustic elegant theme.

Marbled delight

The stunning, three-tiered wedding cake was a white chocolate and raspberry mud cake, finished with white chocolate ganache and blue-marble effect. The cake colour matched the Wedgwood blue and grey colour scheme, which was reflected in the bridesmaids’ gowns, groomsmen’s ties, invitations, menus and table decorations.

Dream dress

Alex fell in love with her dream dress when she first spotted the Inca by Grace Loves Lace creation in a bridal magazine. Unwilling to take the chance of ordering online, Alex and two friends secured $50 return plane tickets and flew to the Gold Coast and back in a day to make sure the dream dress would be a perfect fit on the big day.
