On a beautiful March day Kaitlin Oxley and Joel Aitken said “I do” and began their lives together as husband and wife. Having first met in high school, they were married at Monichino Wines after 10 loving years together.
Having been to many weddings over the years, Kaitlin said they knew what they were looking for when it came to finding the perfect venue.
When searching for a location, it was Monichino Wines’ wine barrel room that captured the attention of the bride and groom.
“As soon as we walked in, I knew it was perfect,” she said.
After more than a decade together, it was during a tranquil weekend away in the Yarra Valley that Joel finally asked Kaitlin to be his wife. Upon arrival the couple was greeted by an open fire, champagne and a cheese platter in the room, which was filled with rose petals. “I turned to look at Joel and he was down on one knee proposing,” Kaitlin said.
There was no question their wedding would be an outdoor affair. With stunning greenery decorating the aisle, the couple exchanged vows under the canopy of trees on a bright autumn afternoon.
Deep red roses and crisp white flowers added extra romance to the day, with wooden accents tying the whole décor together.
