Early on in the wedding planning Melissa Lago decided she wanted to carry a bouquet of ivory open peony roses. “We were engaged for two-and-a-half years and I was very lucky as peonies only bloom for a short period each year and our wedding day happened to fall right in the middle of the blooming period,” Melissa said.

A beautifully restored maroon 1967 Ford XR Falcon transported Melissa to the church for the ceremony. “Dad restored that car when we were little and he always said ‘That is the car I will give you away with.’ It was very important to him.”
The groom’s farming background was reflected in the large hay bales providing a unique and personal backdrop for the post-ceremony photography.
Melissa and Adam exchanged wedding vows in the century-old Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tatura, the same church where Melissa’s parents were married. The groom’s cousin Amelia Rosella and a friend’s daughter Sienna Tedesco were excited to be flower girls and were a delightful addition to the bridal party.
